Part 2

Ok - i'm gonna be quick on these as I realise I'm way behind so here goes:

After the lunch we went to see the Temple of Heaven which was in the same park as where the restaurant was - again lots of buildings which were used for worship and beautifully decorated.

From here we went to our next 'screw the tourist' stop which was a pearl factory where they showed us where pearls were made ... in an oyster durhh! Then we were invited to purchase items with up to 20% off - err no thanks! No-one I know wears pearls and what would I want with a pearl dragon on the mantlepiece!!!

last stop of the day was the summer palace with its man made lake. fantastic scenery - basically its based on the yellow river but the emporer (thats not how you spell it but I dont know) couldnt get down there so he commissioned artists to draw the area around the yellow river and then build a replica!

Back to the hotel then. In the evening I met up with Steve who was also on the tour for a bite to eat (this was after I took a taxi to the wrong hotel and arrived nearly an hour late!)
